Description

Almost 18 months into our journey as a newly merged organisation, Amplius has established itself as a strong, values‑led housing association and one of the largest providers across the Midlands, East and South East of England. Managing more than 40,000 homes and delivering an ambitious development programme, we exist to have a positive impact on people’s lives by providing safe, affordable homes and services that truly put customers first.

Strong governance has been central to the success of the merger and to the organisation’s continued confidence and stability.

The Audit & Risk Committee plays a critical role in overseeing risk management, assurance, controls and regulatory compliance, with a particular focus on keeping customers safe in their homes and supporting long‑term organisational resilience. The Committee works closely with the Board and executive team, and is known for its open, thoughtful and collegiate approach.

We would like to appoint two Independent Audit & Risk Committee Members, who bring additional depth, challenge and perspective.

We are specifically looking for a high level of expertise and associated professional qualifications, in the following areas:

  • Financial accounting and audit expertise, a recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, CIMA) and extensive experience operating at a senior level within a regulated environment.
  • Enterprise risk, internal audit or risk oversight, ideally gained in another regulated or asset‑intensive sector.

Previous committee experience is helpful but not essential. What matters most is the ability to operate at a strategic level, absorb and interpret complex information, and contribute as a strong team player who is motivated by social purpose.

The estimated time commitment is around 1 day a month.

Amplius is committed to diversity of thought and lived experience, and we particularly welcome applications from candidates whose backgrounds are under‑represented in governance roles. If you require any adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know and we will be happy to discuss how we can support you.
